Ladies who know about NATURAL afro hair, do I need to plait my hair at night if I'm wearing an afro puff daily?
So, I've taken the plunge and have decided to wear my hair in an afro puff for a couple of weeks. My hair is completely natural, par 1/2 cms of relaxed hair at the ends. I wanna know if I should I plait my hair every night for bed and comb it out in the mornings?
My hair has very very very tight curls and is quite thick, so it takes a good 15mins if not more to comb it out, then it gets tangled up again within minutes! I'm not sure if it's a good idea to comb it so much and I really want it to grow. Also, when I do comb it, tiny circles (just to show how tightly curled my hair is) fall out like circular, black snowflakes. Is that normal?

Hi. You should definitely plait your hair at night to keep it from becoming tangled. But before you plait your hair, you should moisten it with water, or some hair conditioner to make it easier to comb through. In the morning, when you are taking it down, moisten it again with water, or conditioner, to make it easier to comb through. Use a wide tooth comb, or use your fingers to comb through your hair. The tiny circles that you see falling out are broken hairs (the same thing happens to me if I comb my hair when it is dry in its natural state), and you don't want to keep breaking your hair off.
