sks magazines, which detachable ones are best?
years ago i had a chinese sks that never had a problem with detachable mags. got rid of it and recently bought another. now no matter which ones i try, the follwers bend, lips hold on bolt,lips bent, and many other problems. i tried sanding and filing lips but still get jams or feed problems. what magazine is best? beware cheaper than dirts mags they are junk!! recently found a USA magazine 30 rounder and i think it is same manufacturer i bought years ago. are they any good? basically whats best and where to get them...

The problems you are having might not be the magazines. Lately the SKS's I have seen have had really sloppy manufacturing tolerances and the parts are just not fitted as well as the guns that were available 5 years ago or longer. Depending on where your SKS was made and by what manufacturer, the gun itself, could end up the source of your problem. I have seen this problem with guns that have come into my shop for repair in recent months. Improper head spacing resulting in ruptured bullet casings when fired, Feeding problems, magazine feed lips literally having metal shaved off of the top due to improper magazine catch height., , etc. I can only suggest you take it to your local Gunsmith and have him/her check these points and see if thats your problem. With many states restricting SKS magazines to those that hold 10 rounds or less, there is a flood of poor quality after market magazines showing up now. Get your gun checked out before you spend more money on magazines. Good Luck!
