Samsung Er-5240M HELP!?
I just purchased this Samsung Er-5240M register. When I first turned it on, it gave me a sequence error and it would beep everytime I tried to press a button. I did an initial clear, which resulted in a register mode closed error and now everything i try to press will not work. Please help because I'm trying to read the manual and find answers but it just isn't working for me. Thanks to anyone who helps me!
If this is an Electronic Cash Register, you may have
some programming issues, or a transaction was not
completed. If it beeps no matter what button you touch,
you have a Programming issue. If you can enter numbers
into the machine, you should be able to depress the Total
Key. If you have all the keys and the manual, you should
be all set. If you can't enter numbers when the key is in
Register position; try depressing the clear key, and then
the total key. Still beeps? Try the clear key, enter 100.00,
then the total key. Still beeps? Set the machine to the
programming mode. Follow the steps in the manual to set
up your department status, tax table, and time/date settings.
If you still can't get the machine to do any thing, try each
position of the key until you are able to perform a numerical
entry on the display. Once you can do this, you should be
able to hit clear and the total key. The printer should cycle.
If the printer is low on paper, this may cause the machine
to shut down. Find a replacement roll of paper. Follow the
instructions in the manual on how to properly load a fresh
roll of paper. Try to do a 'no sale' as described in the manual.
